Saturday 13 July 2024 : USA former president Trump was at a Republican party campaign rally in Butler County. Pensylvania. At 6.15pm local time (2215hrs GMT) Al Jazeera reports that at least 5 shots were heard and former USA president Trump was seen to fall or duck down. Turns out that it was an assassination attempt by Thomas Matthew Crooks aged 20yrs . A bullet struck Trump's ear and he was escorted away from the stage by Secret Service. An innocent spectator was killed .

14 July 2024: China Gobal Television Network (CGTN) . The Chinese state media network reported Trump saying that he had been shot with a bullet and that he was bloodied but safe.
