Cenotaph on Remembrance Day

 The Cenotaph is located in London SW1A 2ET.  Since it was placed there, the Cenotaph (Greek for "empty tomb") has been the national principal memorial to those who fought and died in the two world wars and subsequent conflicts.

Stations on North of Thames on same side of river as Cenotaph:

Charing Cross station is a few minutes walk from the Cenotaph.

Westminster (near Big Ben), Green Park,  Piccadilly Circus,  Leicester Square,  Charing Cross tube station

Transport for London (TFL) closes stations on Saturday 11th November 2023 

Reports have emerged about travel difficulties on Remembrance Day Sat 11 Nov 2023 as TFL (Sadiq Khan?) has decided to close 5 stations on the Saturday morning .  They will re-open at 3pm that day. 

The Remembrance day parade is held on the second Sunday in November and so will be on Sunday 12th November.   The Elizabeth line is shut on Sunday 12th

TFL calendar of works shows that the following lines will be closed on 11th Nov 2023 and re-open the same day at 3pm. 

Circle , District, Hammersmith & City, Jubillee , Metroplitan. 

There will also be reduced service on London overground services.

Police ask pro Hamas supporters to not demonstrate 

There are many reports covering the police request for people to NOT demonstrate during Armistice weekend. 

Many people would think that a large scale protest near the Cenotaph on Armistice weekend about any issue at all , is insulting and unreasonable.
