The report gives the impression that the Russian economy is shrinking . Also, after you have read the short item, how do you the reader think this compares with the UK?
Well anyway lets look at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). They think that the UK economy will shrink by -0.6% this year. They think that the Russian economy will grow by 0.3%. Click the "Latest World Economic Outlook" link and scroll down a bit

It looks like BRICS nations (Brazil Russia India China ) are not doing as badly as you might imagine.
I suppose the IMF is reputable and these figures are reliable? ? But for example how is Germany going to have 0.1% growth after the cheap gas pipeline from Russia was blown up, and they are burning lignite and expensive LPG from the USA?
This blogger has lost trust in the BBC and many of the institutions that used to be relied upon.
