Inflation is a problem across the world. One of the standard was of dealing with high inflation rates is to raise interest rates. We can see from the trading economics website that central banks are starting to raise interest rates across the globe with noteable exceptions such as Turkey and japan. Turkey has reduced rates slightly from 14 to 13% however this has resulted in their inflation going from around 20% to 80% in last few months.
Central Banks have often had a policy of raising interest rates by 25 basis points (or a quarter of 1% in other words). However, some experts have commented that this means that central banks "behind the curve" (particularly the USA Federal Bank). In other words the banks are leaving it too late and not taking action soon enough.
