The ZEZ
Oxford County Council say on their website that from 28th Feb 2022, they have introduced a Zero Emission Zone (ZEZ) to parts of Oxford city centre. Fossil fueled vehicles (including hybrids) will be charged if they enter the area between 7am and 7pm .
20 year strategy Oxford County Council says that they want to encourage people to switch to low and zero emission vehicles . People will also be encouraged to use other forms of transport such as buses and trains. This is all part of a 20 year strategy to cope with a multitude of changes expected in the Oxford area. The strategy talks about the expected increase in population, and consequential increase in housing , vehicles and carbon emissions.
