Coastal Erosion

Coastal erosion reviewed:  As part of an ongoing review in to it's Shoreline Management Plans (SMP's), East Suffolk Council and it's partners today held a public consultation event at Corton Community Centre.

Staff were on hand to explain the complexities of advance and retreat of sections of beach since 1945.  Some areas at the Northern end of Corton village may be at risk of failing during storms.

The East coast partnership can be found on their Coastal partnership East Facebook page.   Further details of ESC shoreline management management plans can be found on the East Suffolk Council site.

East Suffolk Staff said they hope that a similar event may be held for Southwold in the coming weeks.   These matters are also likely to be discussed by the Southwold Harbour Management Committee who are scheduled to hold their next Southwold Harbour Meeting on 14th July 2022 at the Stella pesket hall, Southwold.
